Kelly Hasting founded Melodic Motion and developed its curriculum. She holds a master’s degree in teaching science and was a professional dancer with the California Ballet Company. She was also a teacher and cheer and dance coach at Grimsley Junior High in Centerton, Arkansas. Her experience in education, dance, and coaching shapes the lessons and teaching guidance.
Greg Hasting brings music, production, legal, and business experience to the program. He majored in music at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and plays bass in the band Doctor Junior. He is also an attorney and local business owner. Greg supports the curriculum’s music development and production, including editing in Ableton, and helps build the business behind Melodic Motion.

Playful nursery-rhyme-style songs invite children to join in, while gentle lullabies support quieter moments and the return to calm. Alongside tempo, rhythm, dynamics, and musical form, children encounter different styles of music and discover how each can sound and feel.
When a musical style is a natural fit for a lesson’s theme, we bring it into the songs. For example, we use country music for Down on the Farm, island-inspired music for Under the Sea, and New Orleans-style music for Carnival. Alongside musical concepts, children explore a wide variety of sounds and styles and begin connecting them with the places, celebrations, and traditions where they might hear them. Each theme brings the music to life and helps children discover how music is part of the world around them.

Kelly holds a master’s degree in teaching science and was a professional dancer with the California Ballet Company. She founded Melodic Motion™ to create energetic, imaginative music experiences with meaningful opportunities for children and adults to connect.

How do you protect children’s information?
We take student privacy seriously. Our platform is designed to comply with COPPA, and we keep personal information to a minimum. We store only a child’s first name, last-name initials when needed to distinguish between students, and parent email addresses. We do not store children’s full names, birthdates, home addresses, photos, or recordings in the app. Children do not create accounts. We do not sell children’s personal information, show advertising in the portal, or use behavioral advertising or third-party analytics trackers in the portal.
How easy is setup?
The director creates the center account, uploads the student roster, and invites teachers. Teachers gather the listed props, press play, hand out materials as needed, and mark each lesson complete. The workflow is designed to keep preparation and coordination simple.
What happens when a teacher marks a lesson complete?
Parents receive an email with a QR code for family access to the songs and videos from that lesson and all the lessons their child has completed. They also receive simple activities to continue the learning at home.
Can we pause our membership?
Yes. You can pause your membership and keep your accumulated lesson credits for when you return.
How does our lesson library grow?
Every plan starts with 36 complete lessons. Each month of your active license adds one credit to unlock a new lesson, with new lessons added every month. Unlocked lessons remain in your library to use again while your license is active. Unused credits carry forward, so you can save them for lessons that fit your program.
Do unused lesson credits expire?
Unused credits carry forward while your license is active, and you keep your accumulated credits when you pause your membership. A paused membership does not trigger credit expiration. If your license has been lapsed or canceled for more than 180 days, any remaining credits expire. This is based on your license status, not how often you sign in.
Do infants count toward our plan?
No. Your tier is based only on students using Melodic Motion, designed for ages 2 to 5 years old—not your total enrollment. Infants and other children who do not participate are not included in the count.
How does the 14-day roster buffer work?
Every plan includes a 14-day grace period when the number of participating students exceeds your plan’s limit. During those 14 days, review and adjust your roster or update your plan to fit the students using the program.
Do all center plans include the same videos and resources?
Yes. Every center plan includes the same curriculum, Kelly-led lesson videos, karaoke videos, teaching resources, and family app access. Your pricing tier is based only on participating student count. You can use the included videos or lead screen-free activities with the audio and printables.
How much preparation does a lesson need?

What equipment and materials will we need?
Basic materials include egg shakers, rhythm sticks, bells, scarves, and hand drums. Many daycares already have versions of these on hand. Each lesson lists what to gather, and the guides suggest alternatives when particular instruments are unavailable. For video lessons, use a smart TV or a laptop connected to a suitable screen. For screen-free lessons, use a way to play the audio alongside the guide and printed visuals.
What do families receive?
Parents receive songs, karaoke videos, coloring-book materials, and parent PDFs such as lesson recaps. Kelly-led lesson videos are included in every center plan.
How is center pricing determined?
Plans are $149/month for up to 35 students, $225/month for up to 65, and $299/month for up to 90. At each tier’s listed capacity, that is approximately $4.26, $3.46, and $3.32 per student per month. For more than 90 students, contact us for pricing. Every tier includes the same curriculum, videos, and features. Printed posters are sold separately.
